Celoron, N.Y. – The Celoron Post Office has been unexpectedly closed. A notice posted on the doors of the Post Office states that this closure is due to unforseen circumstances, and will last until further notice.

The Post Office has instructed residents to visit their neighboring offices in Jamestown, Lakewood, and Ashville. Residents have been reminded to make sure that they bring a photo ID when visiting these locations.
In a comment to WNY News Now, the Village of Celoron stated that Mayor Schrecengost was informed that the Post Office has been closed temporarily for replacement of the floor tiles. All Post Office Box customers will be required to go to the Jamestown Post Office, located at 300 E. 3rd Street, in order to pick up their mail. They are still collecting outgoing mail from the drop off box outside the building until 5 p.m.
According to the Village, a resident informed them that there is a location next to the mail drop area to the left when entering the Jamestown Post Office lobby with a half door where the Celoron mail will be distributed.
