(WNY News Now) – GOWANDA, NY — A routine traffic stop in Gowanda resulted in the arrest of a local man wanted on a Niagara County Family Court warrant.
According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Anthony R. Lewis of Gowanda was stopped by deputies on Jamestown Street at approximately 3:57 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2025. During the traffic stop, a warrant check revealed that Lewis had an active arrest warrant issued by Niagara County Family Court.
Lewis was taken into custody without incident and later turned over to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office for further processing. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
