(WNY News Now) – A stolen purse and credit card led Jamestown Police to arrest two city residents on multiple charges of criminal possession of stolen property.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Two Jamestown men are facing charges after police responded to a vehicle larceny late Tuesday night that led to the recovery of stolen items and two arrests.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the Third Platoon were dispatched at approximately 11:53 p.m. on August 5, 2025, to a report of a vehicle larceny in the downtown area. The victim reported that a purse and its contents had been stolen from their vehicle.

Shortly after the theft, an individual attempted to use the victim’s credit card at the 7-Eleven on North Main Street. Surveillance footage and investigative efforts led officers to identify 18-year-old Conner A. Dale as a suspect. Dale was located at his west side residence, where police recovered Apple AirPods reported stolen in the incident.

Further investigation led officers to 37-year-old William E.L. Blakey on the city’s north side. Blakey was found in possession of the stolen purse.

Both men were taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. Dale has been charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th and 5th degrees, while Blakey faces a charge of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th degree.

The two are currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
