(WNY News Now) – A 17-year-old female faces felony assault charges after allegedly striking a 16-year-old with a brick during a fight in Dunkirk.

DUNKIRK, NY — On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Dunkirk Police responded to a report of a fight near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Courtney Street. Upon investigation, authorities found that the altercation involved two female juveniles.

According to the police report, a 17-year-old female allegedly struck a 16-year-old female in the face with a brick during the incident. Following the investigation, the 17-year-old was charged with second-degree assault, a class D felony under Penal Law 120.05(2).

The charged juvenile was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Youth Part County Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
