(WNY News Now) – HANOVER, N.Y. – A Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputy arrested a 64-year-old Irving man late Thursday night after a traffic stop led to a charge of driving while intoxicated.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies initiated a stop at approximately 11:33 p.m. on August 14, 2025, after observing a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign near Alleghany Road and Iola Drive in the Town of Hanover.

The driver, identified as Rodney W. Keyes, was determined to be intoxicated. Deputies transported Keyes for processing before releasing him with appearance tickets.

He is scheduled to appear in Town of Hanover Court at a later date to face charges of failure to stop at a stop sign and driving while intoxicated. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
