(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A Jamestown man is facing multiple charges after police responded to a domestic dispute on the city’s north side early Saturday morning.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the third platoon were dispatched at approximately 3:42 a.m. on August 16, 2025, following a frantic 911 call requesting immediate assistance.
Upon arrival, officers learned that 28-year-old Dakota M. Morse had allegedly attempted to forcibly detain a female victim by pulling her sweatshirt, which also obstructed her ability to breathe. Police said Morse fled the scene before officers arrived but was located shortly after and taken into custody.
Morse was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is awaiting arraignment in Jamestown City Court. He has been charged with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree, in addition to an outstanding arrest warrant from the Jamestown Police Department.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
