(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A 41-year-old Jamestown woman was cited for multiple traffic violations and driving while intoxicated after a police stop early Sunday morning.

On August 17, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon observed a vehicle on East 2nd Street committing several traffic infractions. The vehicle was stopped, and the operator was identified as Amanda C. Andrews, a Jamestown resident.

An investigation revealed that Andrews was operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the city jail. Testing indicated her blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit.

Andrews was issued tickets to appear in Jamestown City Court on charges including DWI, Aggravated DWI Per Se, failing to stop at a stop sign, unsafe lane changes, and making an improper turn. She was released following processing. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
