Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reports arrest following fraud investigation
(WNY News Now) – GREAT VALLEY, N.Y. — The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Great Valley man in connection with a fraud investigation that led to multiple felony charges.
On Monday, August 18, 2025, deputies arrested Ryan J. Mighells, 42, of Great Valley, after an investigation into fraudulent activity. Authorities say Mighells was taken into custody and transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
Mighells is charged with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny (credit card), both class E felonies, one count of fourth-degree grand larceny (property valued over $1,000), also a class E felony, and one count of third-degree forgery, a class A misdemeanor.
Following his arrest, Mighells was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear for arraignment in Great Valley Town Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
