Deputies Charge 15-Year-Old with Burglary and Criminal Mischief; Released to Family Court

(WNY News Now) – CATTARAUGUS COUNTY, N.Y. — The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reports that a 15-year-old juvenile has been charged in connection with a burglary incident in the Town of East Otto.

Deputies responded to a reported burglary on August 29, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m. Following an investigation, authorities allege that the juvenile unlawfully entered a building and caused property damage inside. Video surveillance reportedly captured the individual entering the property, which led to the charges.

The juvenile, whose name is being withheld due to age, was charged with burglary in the third degree and criminal mischief in the third degree. After processing, the juvenile was released on an appearance ticket and referred to family court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
