On September 21, 2025, at about 10:16 a.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies were alerted to a possible trespass at a storage unit on Route 20 in Portland. Upon arrival, deputies located Travis L. Lanneaux, 38, of Westfield, and April R. Decker, 22, of Mayville, inside a storage unit that did not belong to them.

Following an investigation, both Lanneaux and Decker were taken into custody. They were each charged with criminal trespass in the third degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

The pair were processed and released with appearance tickets. They are scheduled to appear in Portland Town Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
