(WNY News Now) – ELLERY, N.Y. – A Bemus Point woman was arrested Tuesday morning after deputies responded to an altercation in the Town of Ellery, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to a residence in Ellery on September 23, 2025, around 11:29 a.m. for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located Jennifer A. Lugo, 38, of Bemus Point.

Following an investigation, deputies allege Lugo threw her phone at another individual and took a phone from someone else while attempting to call 911. Lugo was taken into custody at the scene.

She is charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree and harassment in the second degree. Lugo was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail to await centralized arraignment.

She is scheduled to appear in Ellery Town Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
