(WNY News Now) – A 66-year-old man has been arrested in the Town of Chautauqua following an investigation into allegations of unwanted sexual contact.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Donald A. Baker, 66, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Baker, who is listed as homeless, was charged with Sexual Abuse in the First Degree following an investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.

According to investigators, the case began on September 8, 2025, when a victim reported experiencing unwanted sexual contact involving Baker. After gathering evidence and conducting interviews, investigators charged Baker earlier this week.

Baker was taken into custody on September 24 and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment before the Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
