(WNY News Now) – ALLEGANY, N.Y. – The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reports that a 55-year-old Allegany woman was arrested Tuesday morning following a shoplifting incident at Walmart on Plaza Drive.

Deputies said Tracy R. Maracle, 55, was taken into custody on September 30, 2025, at approximately 10:19 a.m. after she was accused of stealing merchandise from the store. Following the arrest, Maracle was charged with petit larceny.

She was released at the scene with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to court at a later date to answer the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
