(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – Three people were taken into custody early Wednesday morning after a traffic stop led Jamestown police to discover methamphetamine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the third platoon observed a vehicle committing multiple traffic violations near Foote Avenue and Harrison Street at approximately 2:57 a.m. on October 1, 2025. Police conducted a stop and identified the driver as Joseph S. Davis, 44, along with two passengers, Christine M. Park, 39, and Michael R. Shafer, 23.

During the investigation, officers reported finding methamphetamine, fentanyl, a digital scale, and glassine envelopes inside the vehicle. All three individuals were arrested and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

Authorities said Davis and Shafer were each charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree. Park was charged with two counts of each offense. Davis also received multiple traffic citations.

All three were released on appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
