(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop in the Town of Ellicott after police say he was found driving under the influence of drugs.
ELLICOTT, N.Y. — The Town of Ellicott Police Department has charged James D.L. Peterson, 42, of Jamestown, with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, and No Seatbelt following a traffic stop on September 25, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m.
According to police, officers initiated the stop after observing Peterson allegedly not wearing his seatbelt. During the investigation, it was determined that Peterson was operating his vehicle while impaired by drugs.
Peterson was issued an appearance ticket and released at the scene. He is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
