(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown resident was arrested Thursday evening after allegedly stealing items from the Dollar General store on Winsor Street.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – On October 9, 2025, at approximately 7:22 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon responded to a report of shoplifting at the Dollar General located at 226 Winsor Street.

Upon arrival, officers located Anthony M. Camarata, 41, of Jamestown, a short distance from the store. He matched the description provided by a store employee. Police say Camarata was found in possession of the stolen merchandise and was taken into custody without further incident.

Camarata was charged with petit larceny and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. Authorities noted that he is being held pending arraignment due to several prior failures to appear in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
