(WNY News Now) – A narcotics investigation led to the arrest of three Jamestown residents following the execution of a search warrant that uncovered methamphetamine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia.
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — On October 9, 2025, at approximately 12:04 p.m., members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force, along with Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators, executed a search warrant at an upper apartment located at 17 West 7th Street.
During the operation, officers located Wendy K. Merrill, 49, and Tiffany A. Mahoney, 43, both of Jamestown, inside the residence along with five other individuals. Investigators also encountered David C. Burkhart III, 32, of Jamestown, on the front porch attempting to enter the apartment as officers approached.
After securing the scene, detectives conducted a search and reportedly discovered approximately 10.4 grams of methamphetamine, 7.3 grams of fentanyl, a small quantity of crack cocaine, digital scales, packaging materials, hypodermic needles, and cash.
Merrill and Mahoney were each charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, and two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree.
Burkhart was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and was also found to have an outstanding warrant through Jamestown City Court. The five other individuals present at the residence were released without charges.
All three suspects were transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where they were held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Due to the apartment’s poor living conditions, the Jamestown Department of Development was called to the scene and subsequently condemned the property.
The Jamestown Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Development.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about drug or criminal activity to contact the Jamestown Police Department Tip Line at 716-483-TIPS (8477) or the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 800-344-8702 or 716-664-2420.
