(WNY News Now) – Deputies with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Portland woman wanted on multiple felony warrants following a tip that led to her location Thursday night.

PORTLAND, N.Y. — On Thursday, October 16, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies received information that a woman with multiple outstanding felony warrants was at a residence in the Town of Portland.

Deputies, assisted by Narcotics Investigators, responded to the home and confirmed the presence of 43-year-old Rachel A. Blanchard of Portland. During the warrant check, Blanchard was taken into custody without incident.

While executing the arrest, deputies discovered that Blanchard was in possession of approximately 4 grams of fentanyl. She was subsequently charged in connection with the narcotics possession in addition to her existing felony warrants.

Blanchard was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail, where she is being held pending further court proceedings in the Town of Portland Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
