(WNY News Now) – MINA, N.Y. — A Sherman man is facing multiple charges after deputies with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Bailey Hill Road Saturday night.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 9:38 p.m. on October 18, 2025, when deputies stopped a vehicle for several vehicle and traffic law violations. The driver, identified as 38-year-old Kenneth W. Brightman of Sherman, was allegedly found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Following an investigation, Brightman was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), DWI Per Se, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree, Suspended Registration, No Front Plate, and Inadequate Exhaust.

Deputies transported Brightman to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office for processing. He was later released with appearance tickets to answer the charges in Town of Mina Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
