(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man is facing multiple charges after police responded to a follow-up investigation of a domestic dispute early Sunday morning.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the Third Platoon responded to a Southside address on November 2, 2025, at approximately 3:46 a.m. The response followed an earlier domestic incident that occurred the previous evening, November 1, around 8:30 p.m.

Police said a female victim had come to the Jamestown Police Department with visible bruising around her neck. The investigation determined that 40-year-old Jason A. Swartz, a resident of Jamestown, was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with the victim.

According to investigators, Swartz reportedly held down and choked the victim during the incident, which occurred in the presence of a six-year-old child.

Swartz was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He has been charged with Strangulation in the Second Degree, Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
