B.IR.T Technology is entering 2026 with a focused mission: removing uncertainty from electrical safety at every level.
Founded by Jamestown resident Blake Robert McAffee, the company is building on earlier innovations with two connected technologies that together establish an entirely new category in electrical safety — the Smart Cord Guardian and the IRPC (Intelligent Resilient Predictive Core).
Both systems are designed around a single principle: predict problems early, prevent failures, and reduce risk before damage occurs.

Making Power Cords Smart — and Safer
The Smart Cord Guardian, a residential product formerly known as the Cable Life Counter, transforms ordinary power cords into intelligent safety devices.
Integrated directly into the plug housing, the system continuously monitors cord health, electrical stress, and long-term degradation. A simple LED indicator provides instant visual status at a glance, while audible alerts notify homeowners when a cord is approaching the end of its safe lifespan.
If a hazardous condition is detected and not addressed, the Smart Cord Guardian can automatically disconnect power to that cord — protecting the home even while occupants are asleep or away. The system includes an internal battery, allowing continuous monitoring and alerting independent of the home’s electrical supply.
“This is about peace of mind,” said Devyn Stoll, co-owner and early user of the product. “Having something in my home that informs me when something is going wrong — without guesswork — lets me make better decisions about repairs or replacement before it becomes a real problem.”
Stoll also emphasized accessibility. “It’s the only product I know of that can protect my home for less than the cost of a quarter tank of gas.”

‘The Smoke Detector of Electrical Cords’
Founder Blake Robert McAffee describes the Smart Cord Guardian in terms most homeowners immediately understand.
“We became the smoke detector of electrical cords,” McAffee said. “Because we will alert you before your smoke detector has to. Once your smoke detector goes off, it’s already too late.”

IRPC: Universal Monitoring, Applied Safely
While the Smart Cord Guardian focuses on residential safety, B.IR.T Technology’s IRPC (Intelligent Resilient Predictive Core) is designed for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure environments.
The IRPC is the first non-invasive, plug-and-play, inline electrical monitoring system capable of analyzing both AC and DC power within a single device while operating across global voltage standards. This universal compatibility allows the same core technology to be deployed worldwide — regardless of country, grid design, or electrical infrastructure.
Despite its compact size, the IRPC is powerful enough to provide predictive monitoring for applications ranging from EV chargers and solar systems to CNC machines, robotics, and automated industrial equipment.
Importantly, the IRPC’s protective shutoff functions are application-specific, designed to safely isolate individual machines or devices when abnormal electrical behavior is detected — not to disrupt broader systems such as power grids.
“The goal isn’t interruption,” McAffee explained. “It’s intelligent protection at the point of use, where failures actually begin.”
By identifying electrical stress and fault conditions early, the IRPC helps prevent equipment damage, unplanned downtime, and cascading failures — all without requiring complex rewiring or specialized installation.

A New Category, One Clear Goal
Together, the Smart Cord Guardian and IRPC represent a shift away from reactive electrical protection toward preventative, predictive safety.
“This isn’t about adding more hardware,” McAffee said. “It’s about changing how we think about electrical risk altogether.”
As 2026 begins, B.IR.T Technology is positioning itself as an emerging leader in electrical safety by focusing on practical, scalable solutions that work across homes, businesses, and industry.
Without hype or exaggeration, the company is delivering a clear message through its technology:
Electrical safety should never come second to anything else.
