Town of Ellicott Police say a 29-year-old Lakewood resident was issued an appearance ticket following a reported shoplifting incident.

(WNY News Now) – The Town of Ellicott Police have charged a Lakewood woman with petit larceny after responding to a shoplifting complaint on February 26.

According to a department press release, officers were dispatched at approximately 2:45 p.m. for a reported theft at a local establishment. Police allege that Jessie J. Estus, 29, of Lakewood, left the business without paying for several items.

Estus was taken into custody and transported to the police department for processing. She was later released with an appearance ticket.

Estus is scheduled to appear in Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer to the charge of petit larceny.

As with all criminal charges, the accusation is merely an allegation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
