(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Lakewood man is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop early Sunday morning in the City of Jamestown led to a driving while intoxicated investigation.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on West Third Street at approximately 1:07 a.m. on March 22. The driver was identified as 42-year-old James A. Schultz of Lakewood.
Following an investigation, deputies determined that Schultz was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was taken into custody without incident.
Schultz has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), Aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of 0.18% or higher, and operating a vehicle without a distinctive plate that was secure and clearly visible.
Authorities said Schultz will appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
