(WNY News Now) – Dunkirk, NY – A Dunkirk man has been charged following the theft and damage of an electric bicycle.

Dunkirk Police reported that on March 11, 2026, at approximately 5:34 PM, officers from the 3-11 Patrol shift responded to a complaint regarding a stolen e-bike. After a multi-day investigation, the bike was located on March 16 at a residence in Dunkirk.

Authorities say the resident, 47-year-old Jon-Christian Kaczor, admitted to taking the e-bike and causing damage to it. Kaczor was arrested later that day and charged with petit larceny (PL 155.25), fourth-degree criminal mischief (PL 145.00), and third-degree criminal mischief (PL 145.05). He was released on an appearance ticket in accordance with New York State bail reform guidelines.

The case is scheduled to appear before Dunkirk City Court under the Honorable Judge Kuzdale. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
