(WNY News Now) – ALLEGANY, N.Y. — A Cuba resident was issued an appearance ticket after deputies investigated a reported shoplifting incident at a retail store in Allegany on March 27.

According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, Khristina A. Pixley, 45, of Cuba, was taken into custody at approximately 9:17 p.m. in connection with a larceny complaint at Walmart in the Town of Allegany.

Authorities allege that Pixley took two items valued at $16.90 without paying for them. Following the investigation, she was processed by deputies and released with an appearance ticket charging her with petit larceny.

Pixley is scheduled to appear in the Town of Allegany Court at a later date to answer the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
