(WNY News Now) – KIANTONE, N.Y. — A 39-year-old Frewsburg man was arrested in Kiantone on April 9, 2026, following a larceny investigation conducted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, according to authorities.

Deputies identified the suspect as Garrett R. Culver, 39, of Frewsburg, New York, after investigating a complaint from a local business in Jamestown. The investigation led deputies to conclude Culver was allegedly involved in a petit larceny incident.

Culver was taken into custody and charged with petit larceny under New York State Penal Law. During the course of the arrest and subsequent investigation, deputies also discovered that Culver was wanted on an outstanding warrant stemming from a separate case in Cumberland County, Maine.

Authorities confirmed Culver was additionally classified as a fugitive from justice in connection with the Maine warrant. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail, where he was booked and held for centralized arraignment.

He is currently awaiting extradition proceedings to Maine in relation to the out-of-state warrant, in addition to addressing the local charges in Chautauqua County. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
