(WNY News Now) – A 55-year-old Falconer man faces felony charges after Town of Ellicott police say he was operating a motorcycle while allegedly intoxicated and riding on a sidewalk during a traffic stop on April 10, 2026.
The Town of Ellicott Police Department reported the arrest of Jason R. Reed, 55, of Falconer, following a vehicle and traffic stop conducted at approximately 12:50 p.m. on April 10, 2026.
According to police, officers observed a motorcycle being operated on a sidewalk and noted that the vehicle was not registered. A subsequent investigation at the scene led officers to allege that Reed was operating the motorcycle while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Authorities stated Reed was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by the Combined Influence of Alcohol and a Drug, a felony offense, as well as Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree, also a felony. Police also issued multiple additional vehicle and traffic citations related to the stop.
Officials further reported that Reed’s New York State Non-Driver Identification was revoked due to a prior DWI conviction.
Following his arrest, Reed was issued traffic tickets and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment. He is scheduled to appear in Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to respond to the charges.
All charges are allegations, and Reed is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
