(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown resident faces driving while intoxicated charges after a traffic stop in the city’s north side early Saturday morning.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers conducted a vehicle and traffic stop at approximately 1:53 a.m. on April 26, 2026, near the intersection of East 6th Street and Fulton Street after observing traffic infractions.

Police said the driver, identified as 25-year-old Kiara C. Slaughter of Jamestown, was found to be operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition following an investigation at the scene.

Slaughter was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail for processing. She was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (per se) and Driving While Intoxicated.

After processing, Slaughter was released with Uniform Traffic Tickets and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
