(WNY News Now) – ELLICOTT, N.Y. — A Jamestown resident is facing a petit larceny charge following a reported shoplifting incident at a Town of Ellicott business.
According to the Town of Ellicott Police Department, officers responded to a shoplifting complaint on April 28, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m. at a local business in the town.
Police allege that Rose E. Raynor, 41, of Jamestown, exited the store without paying for merchandise owned by the business.
Raynor was subsequently charged with Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor under New York State law. She was issued an appearance ticket and released.
Authorities said Raynor is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer to the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
