(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man was taken into custody early June 17 after police investigated a reported domestic dispute on the city’s south side.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers assigned to the Third Platoon responded to a residence at approximately 12:30 a.m. on June 17, 2026. During their investigation, officers determined that 48-year-old Arthur S. Norene allegedly assaulted a victim and forcibly restrained them.
Police also reported that a valid Order of Protection issued through Jamestown City Court was in effect at the time of the incident.
Norene was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
Norene has been charged with Aggravated Criminal Contempt, a felony, as well as Assault in the Third Degree and Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree.
The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
