(WNY News Now) – A Buffalo man has pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in connection with the fatal shooting of a 47-year-old man in the city’s Riverside neighborhood and now faces up to 25 years in prison.
A Buffalo man admitted guilt Monday in the fatal 2025 shooting of a man in Buffalo’s Riverside neighborhood.
Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced that Sir Raven Rodgers, 30, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth F. Case to one count of First-Degree Manslaughter, a Class B violent felony. The plea satisfies the indictment in full.

According to prosecutors, the shooting occurred on October 14, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Isabelle Street near Laird Avenue. Authorities said Rodgers used an illegal firearm to shoot Rafael Ruiz Quinones, 47, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rodgers is scheduled to be sentenced on October 13, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. He faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in state prison and remains held without bail pending sentencing.
District Attorney Keane credited Detective Joseph Ruggiero and the Buffalo Police Department for their investigation into the homicide.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christopher S. Safulko of the Homicide Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Ryan M. Flaherty of the Major Crimes Bureau.
