(WNY News Now) – A 22-year-old Randolph man has been charged with allegedly failing to update required information with the New York State Sex Offender Registry, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau conducted an investigation that resulted in the arrest of Jayden A. Shugars, 22, of Randolph, on a charge of failure to register with the New York State Sex Offender Registry.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Shugars, who is classified as a level 2 sex offender, allegedly failed to notify the registry of an email address he was using.

The arrest was made on August 4, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m. at the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

Shugars is currently incarcerated at the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office and was issued an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Town of Little Valley Court at a later date.

The charge is an allegation, and Shugars is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.
