(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown woman was arrested late Thursday night after police investigated a reported domestic incident on the city’s east side and alleged property damage was discovered.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the Third Platoon responded to an east side residence at approximately 11:55 p.m. on Aug. 6, 2026, for a report of a domestic incident.

Police said their investigation determined that 30-year-old Leslianette Febus Castro of Jamestown allegedly damaged property belonging to another person. As officers attempted to make contact with Castro, she allegedly fled the scene on foot.

Authorities reported that Castro led officers on a brief pursuit before being taken into custody following a short struggle. She was then transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

Castro was charged with Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree and Resisting Arrest. She was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
