(WNY News Now) – Dunkirk police arrested a 25-year-old man after a traffic stop led to the recovery of a loaded pistol and cocaine, according to a department news release.
Dunkirk police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, in Dunkirk.
Police identified the driver as Christopher D. Rosado, 25. Officers determined Rosado had an active arrest warrant and took him into custody.
During the arrest, officers recovered a loaded pistol, police said. A search of the vehicle also allegedly found about 3.8 grams of cocaine, packaging materials and a scale.

Rosado was taken to Dunkirk Police Headquarters and held for arraignment in Dunkirk City Court.
He was charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree
- Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree
- Additional traffic violations
The case is scheduled for Dunkirk City Court before Judge Kuzdale.
The charges are allegations, and Rosado is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
