(WNY News Now) – A 42-year-old Hanover man was charged with aggravated DWI and other offenses following a traffic stop on Route 5&20 in the Town of Hanover on Aug. 15.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted the traffic stop at about 2:52 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, on Route 5&20 in the Town of Hanover.

The driver was identified as Justin D. Legere, 42, of Hanover. According to the Sheriff’s Office, an investigation determined that Legere was allegedly driving while intoxicated.

Legere was taken into custody and charged with:

  • Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated
  • Driving While Intoxicated
  • Failure to Signal a Turn
  • Moving From a Lane Unsafely
  • Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident

Legere is scheduled to answer the charges at a later date in Hanover Town Court.

All charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
