(WNY News Now) – A 27-year-old Buffalo man has been sentenced to 80 months in federal prison for his role in a conspiracy to distribute fentanyl.

Bryan Gutierrez, 27, of Buffalo, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo after being convicted of narcotics conspiracy, according to U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo.

Federal prosecutors said Gutierrez conspired with co-defendant Antonio Rivera-Perez and others to sell fentanyl between December 2024 and April 2025.

Investigators conducted controlled purchases of fentanyl from Gutierrez in February, March and April 2025.

On April 22, 2025, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Rivera-Perez’s residence on Langfield Drive in Buffalo.

Authorities said the search resulted in the seizure of approximately:

• 1,072 grams of powder cocaine
• 198 grams of crack cocaine
• 190 grams of fentanyl
• One firearm and ammunition
• Drug paraphernalia
• Approximately $3,500 in cash

Rivera-Perez was previously convicted in the case and sentenced to 60 months in federal prison.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Garrett Fitzsimmons and Katerina Powers.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New York Field Division under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Farhana Islam.
