(WNY News Now) – A 23-year-old Fredonia man faces several charges following a traffic stop for speeding on Route 60 in the Town of Pomfret.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on Route 60 in Pomfret at about 7:05 p.m. Sept. 1 after deputies observed it traveling at a speed above the posted limit.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the operator was identified as Caydin A. Dejohn, 23, of Fredonia. Deputies said an investigation determined that Dejohn was in possession of a controlled substance.
Dejohn was taken into custody and later released with appearance tickets.
He was charged with speed in zone, consumption of cannabis in a motor vehicle, unsafe backing, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and tampering with physical evidence, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Dejohn is scheduled to appear in Town of Pomfret Court.
The charges are allegations, and Dejohn is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
