(WNY News Now) – A 60-year-old Sheridan man was charged with DWI after a single-vehicle rollover crash on Route 20 left him injured July 14.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded around 2:31 p.m. to a reported personal-injury motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Route 20 and Route 39 in the Town of Sheridan.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the crash involved a single vehicle that rolled over. The driver, identified as Dale M. Prince, 60, of Sheridan, was transported by ambulance to Brooks Hospital for treatment of injuries.

During the investigation, deputies determined that Prince was allegedly driving while intoxicated.

Prince was subsequently charged with Driving While Intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content above .08%, and moving from a lane unsafely. The Sheriff’s Office also listed an unregistered motor vehicle violation.

Prince was issued traffic tickets and is scheduled to answer the charges at a later date in Sheridan Town Court.

The charges are allegations, and Prince is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
