(WNY News Now) – A 37-year-old Olean woman was arrested after deputies conducting a traffic stop in Carrollton reportedly found suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reports that Kristyna M. Martynowicz, 37, of Olean, was taken into custody around 5:04 p.m. Thursday, September 10, following a traffic stop on South Nine Mile Road in the Town of Carrollton.

According to deputies, the vehicle was stopped because of multiple alleged vehicle and traffic law violations. Martynowicz was a passenger in the vehicle.

During the investigation, deputies assigned to the Seneca Nation Allegany Territory deployed K9 Cash to conduct a vehicle sniff. The sheriff’s office said the K9 indicated the presence of the odor of narcotics.

Deputies subsequently searched the vehicle and reported finding a quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine, packaging material and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.

Martynowicz was transported to the Sheriff’s Office Olean Substation for processing.

She was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree.

Martynowicz was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Town of Carrollton Court at a later date.

The charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
