(WNY News Now) – An 18-year-old Falconer resident was charged with second-degree criminal mischief after Ellicott police investigated reports of multiple vehicle tires being damaged in the village.

Town of Ellicott police responded to reports of damaged vehicle tires throughout Falconer.

Police allege the 18-year-old was on foot and damaged tires on multiple vehicles using a sharp instrument. Some vehicles reportedly had all four tires damaged. Police also said two vehicles at the same residence had damaged tires.

A witness provided police with information identifying the suspect, and video footage was also provided to investigators. Police said the footage confirmed the identity of the 18-year-old.

Officers located the individual shortly after the incident, according to police.

After completing the investigation and documenting the reported damage, police arrested the 18-year-old on Sept. 8. The individual was issued an appearance ticket under New York’s bail reform laws.

The case is scheduled to be heard in Town of Ellicott Court at a later date.

The charge is an allegation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
