(WNY News Now) – A 35-year-old Brocton man was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs following a traffic stop in the Town of Ellicott, police said.

Town of Ellicott Police charged Steven J. Seavy, 35, of Brocton, following a vehicle and traffic stop on September 11, 2026, at approximately 9:23 a.m.

According to police, officers conducted the stop after observing several alleged traffic violations. Police said Seavy was allegedly operating the vehicle while impaired by drugs.

Seavy was charged with:

• Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs
• Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign
• Failure to Use a Designated Lane
• Driving on the Shoulder

Police said Seavy was processed and released with traffic tickets.

He is scheduled to appear in Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The charges are allegations, and Seavy is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
