(WNY News Now) – Town of Ellicott police charged a 46-year-old Frewsburg man with driving while ability impaired by drugs following a traffic stop on Sept. 19.

According to the Town of Ellicott Police Department, Patrick M. Frink, 46, of Frewsburg, was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (DWAI-drugs), failure to use a designated lane and an unreadable license plate.

Police said the charges stem from a vehicle and traffic stop conducted at approximately 12:32 p.m. Sept. 19, 2026. Officers reported observing numerous traffic violations before stopping the vehicle.

Police allege Frink was operating the vehicle while under the influence of a drug and was unable to operate it safely.

Frink was released with traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
