(WNY News Now) – A 27-year-old Jamestown resident was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs following a traffic stop in Jamestown, police said.

The Jamestown Police Department stopped a vehicle at approximately 12:02 a.m. Sept. 19 at the intersection of Washington Street and West Third Street after officers observed traffic violations.

During the investigation, officers determined that the driver, identified as Jordan S. Woodmansee, 27, of Jamestown, was allegedly operating the vehicle while impaired by a drug, according to police.

Officers also reported finding a small quantity of cocaine in Woodmansee’s possession.

Woodmansee was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

He was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, along with additional traffic violations.

Woodmansee was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court.

The charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
