(WNY News Now) – A motorcycle pursuit in Dunkirk ended in a crash late October 14 after police said the operator failed to stop for an attempted traffic stop and later tried to flee again following the crash.

According to the Dunkirk Police Department, officers were alerted by Fredonia police at approximately 11:53 p.m. on October 14, 2026, to a motorcycle traveling northbound on Central Avenue at a high rate of speed.

A Dunkirk patrol officer subsequently observed the motorcycle pass a vehicle stopped at a red traffic signal at the intersection of Central Avenue and East Fifth Street.

Police attempted to stop the motorcycle, but the operator allegedly failed to comply, prompting a vehicle pursuit.

Police said the pursuit ended when the motorcycle operator lost control and crashed near Point Drive West and Crooked Brook Drive.

According to the department, the operator attempted to flee again on the motorcycle after the crash. Patrol officers removed the operator from the motorcycle and took the individual into custody without incident.

The operator was identified as Jayden C. Beach. Fire and rescue personnel responded to evaluate Beach, who declined medical treatment, according to police. Beach was then transported to Dunkirk Police Department headquarters for further processing.

Police said Beach received multiple vehicle and traffic tickets and an appearance ticket charging him with unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the third degree.

Beach was released under New York State’s bail reform laws, according to the department. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
