Quattrone, who defeated former Sheriff Joe Gerace in November, was officially sworn in at 12:30 a.m. so he could visit those working in the Sheriff’s Department.

During an interview with reporters afterwards, Quattrone said he looks to increase collaboration between the numerous law enforcement agencies throughout the county.

“I think our biggest issue is going to be the opiod epidemic and really working together,” said Quattrone. “It is not just with law enforcment, but with the public health sector as well as non profits and private entities.”

County Executive George Borrello, State Assemblyman Andy Goodell, State Senator Cathy Young and Congressman Tom Reed were among those who spoke.

Captain Daryl Braley was sworn in to be the Undersheriff.

WNYNewsNow will have more on the inauguration Wednesday on ‘NewsNow @Noon’ on Facebook Live.
