JAMESTOWN – Mayor Sam Teresi is expected to announce his pick to fill a vacant City Council At-Large seat Monday night during the governing body’s 7:30 p.m. meeting at City Hall.

In an interview with WNYNewsNow earlier this month, Teresi said that several people have shown interest in filling the spot vacated by Democrat Vanessa Weinert, who resigned in December for what she called “personal reasons.”

The Mayor declined to provide a list specific candidates, saying “it wouldn’t be fair” for all of the parties involved. Teresi said, however, that the candidates come from all walks of life.

Mayor Teresi is also expected to provide his State of the City to City Council and community members. In years past, the Mayor refrained from reading the full address. Teresi, instead, made it available in print and online.

Teresi is expected to provide a few comments on the address. WNYNewsNow plans to stream that and the whole meeting LIVE on our Facebook page and 24/7 streaming network.
