OLEAN – Olean-based State Police have charged an Olean man with criminal trespass following an investigation into a burglary in progress.

On Wednesday, Troopers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a home on State Route 417 in Allegany.

Troopers said Eric J. Nellis, 28, of Olean, had allegeldy entered the home without permission but fled the scene before police arrived.

Nellis was arrested and released with an appearance ticket for Allegany Town Court later this month.
