JAMESTOWN – A Silver Creek man was arrested Thursday afternoon while allegedly in possession of six grams of a fentanyl/methamphetamine mixture, as well as more than $11,000 in cash, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

Police report they originally took Jesse S. Nahrebeski, 24, into custody on a valid bench warrant for failure to appear on a DWAI charge from Jamestown City Court. Police allege the drugs were discovered during the search.

Nahrebeski is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, in addition to the warrant. He is currently in Jamestown City Jail awaiting arraignment.

JPD Capt. Robert Samuelson told WNYNewsNow that the police don’t often seize fentanyl.

“We have only seen fentanyl a couple of times in very small amounts,” Samuelson said. “Fentanyl is very dangerous, and is deadly in very small amounts. This is the drug that is responsible for sudden overdoses.
