Still Remaining Breezy Through The Afternoon; Turning Colder For The Weekend

JAMESTOWN – After a high of 66 degrees at the Jamestown Airport on Thursday, temps are back into the 40s for today with some rain showers on the way.

The National Weather Service has canceled the Wind Advisory earlier this afternoon, originally scheduled to run until 8 PM tonight. The winds will still remain up through the afternoon, with gusts likely 30 to 40 MPH but they will remain under Advisory criteria.

A few rain showers will come our way this afternoon associated with a Cold front that will be moving through the area. As the front brings colder air behind it, rain will change over to snow showers through the night tonight and much of the day on Saturday.

We’re not expecting anything big in the accumulation department; one inch or less across the Southern Tier. Just enough to bring a fresh coating of snow.

Temps will remain below average through the weekend but some signs of hope are peaking their way though. Springtime air will make a return towards the middle of next week and some signs point to it being an extended period at that…
