MAYVILLE – Chautauqua County Board of Election officials announced last week the locations for early voting.
The Chautauqua Mall, 318 E. Fairmount Ave. Lakewood, Chautauqua County Fairgrounds 4-H Building/Ag & Expo Center, 1089 Central Ave. Dunkirk, and the Board of Election Offices, 7 N Erie St. Mayville, will be open this fall for early voters. Election officials said they will release exact voting times as the November 3 election approaches.
According to new voting laws passed this year, voters who opt to partake in early voting can cast their ballots as early as 10 days before the general election.
Other election reforms passed this year included consolidating the state and federal primaries into a single election in June.
Teens 16 and 17 are also allowed to pre-register to vote when they sign up for a driving permit, so they’re automatically able to vote at age 18.
